CYIT is a statewide celebration honoring the youth of California for their accomplishments in theatre arts and to acknowledge the many individuals and organizations that support and contribute to theatre education for all grade levels – school administrators, teachers, parents, legislators and other officials. CA Youth in Theatre Day was founded by Gai Jones to promote educational theatre to our state government. Currently we are working to support SB916! Sponsored by CETA - California Educational Theatre Association. 

Students who participate in CYIT look forward to experiencing: Being honored by the LT. Governor's Office, Speaking with legislators on behalf of our Theatre students and teachers, Capitol visits, Careers for which Theatre is honored, Project Based Experience, Student Accountability, Reflective Inquiry, Workshops led by Sacramento Theatre Company professionals, and more!
